DÉJÀ LE SOUVENIR

Laëtitia de Welfes

The exhibition dedicated to the paintings of Laëtitia de Welfes echoes her work currently on display at Château Montlabert in Saint-Émilion. An art historian by training, she draws clear inspiration from the essentialist dimension of Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and Jean Cocteau.

Classical figures also inhabit the artist’s imagination, reinterpreted through the lens of her memories of Italy. She draws from her formal and chromatic repertoire to create, in each piece, a sensitive and poetic universe that resonates with her childhood memories and emotions — while exploring the nature of human connection.
